Fire Training Day 18 July

Paul is planning and organising the upcoming Goolawah fire training day, and reports that it is shaping up very well, so far with approx 10 RFS brigades and NPWS attending.

He’s looking for a section of bush to practice a hazard reduction burn and considering the triangle of bush behind Luke and Ish: two acres bounded by two tracks and North Gate Rd. It’s easy to contain fire there, has not burned since 2002 and is not too far from Red Hill, which is the centre of events on the day. Please contact him asap if you know of a better site.

Catering is being provided by the co-op, so we need volunteers to help put lunch on. Please also let Paul know if you can help with catering.

A flyer will be distributed to members as well as local neighbours in the area inviting them to attend too. It appears on the main public section of our website under events.
