Yes, comicsl I agree. Community live has many more challenges than the burbs.. and so, not all are cut out to persist with its up and downs in order to stay invovled in community efforts.
I certainly am feeling the struggles.. at staying engaged.
So glad we got all the extra funding through..
Amazed at how many people join with comments of “loving community” etc etc. Then freak out @ a request to actually spend money into the community!! As usual it is mostly those that also work on the community that are also happy to pay. And ‘mostly’ those that do not involve themselves in much, that do not want to pay….
I’m starting to understand why other communities have year long membership processes and lengthy time required to stay on site and get involved……………………………

I agree, Dan, our membership process could be longer, more thorough and therefore with a more comprehensive self vetting period to give future members and candidates more time and opportunity to understand the co-operative before they decide to join.
