I’d like to thank the board for listening to my feedback on the current guidelines of the Goolawah Phone Tree.
I did, however, leave the meeting with the understanding or impression that the community would be involved in deciding whether or not they want the removal of members as a part of the guidelines.
This is a decision for the community, not the current phone tree admin and two directors. Unless I’m misunderstood.
As a community we need to choose if we want the current guidelines to remain, and then all members and administrators act accordingly, ie no removal of members as it’s not in the guidelines.
Or, update the guidelines, with community consultation.
I have sent a revised and updated version of the guidelines to the board and the current phone tree administrator.
Completely agree with you, Marc, we got the minutes wrong, probably because we were trying to be short. Intention was for Wayne and myself to change a few obvious things in the guidelines before the GM (like take out “unmoderated” etc – which don’t really require big discussion) and bring the rest to debate to the next GM – like removal from tree, reasons and lenght of this. In my opinion the whole PT topic is not a board topic but a community issue, but I appreciated of course, that you talked about it at the DM.
