The Maria River height gauge may help members to foresee possible flooding:

Back in 2015, Roger always closely monitored the indicators, and his comment below (still on our website) helped to interpret the readings:
“If the height gets over 1 metre at high tide, then the water backs up to or over Maria River Rd. The gauge is located near the Hastings River junction, I think? In the last big flood 18 months ago the water reached 2 metres which covered the mail boxes at Illa Langi”.
