I’d like to thank Harvey for bringing the issues of potentially breaking the stated laws pertaining to the holding of special general meetings and short notice thereof. Other members mentioned in Harvey’s comment who were willing to dob the board in to the authorities without speaking to the members of the board first, potentially dropping their neighbours into the shit and potentially a very large fine, these members are obviously not interested in Co-Operative life and perhaps might re consider their place here on the cooperative.
I’m don’t want to online debate. But it would not of been a Special General Meeting, or just a General Meeting.. No Laws would have been broken.
I’d just like to clarify the intention of the community meeting was to continue to add to the discussion on a review of our membership process just like the meeting held on the 9 March. The DRAFT proposals are based on community discussion to date, Web posts and research into joining intentional communities. The DRAFT proposals were simply meant to provide some structure for the discussion, with a view to coming up with proposals the majority of the community would like to take to a General Meeting. It’s very disheartening to read posts about breaking laws, fines…..The community meeting can easily be re-scheduled.
