May General Meeting – Cancelled

“The Board regrets to announce that the General Meeting of 9th May 2020 has been postponed until June. This meeting was to be held online via Zoom conferencing with electronic and paper voting facilities. However, the board understands that at least 25 members have expressed the desire to potentially vote via paper. Such large numbers, coupled with the transmission risks associated with paper handling, mean that such a paper vote could not comply with current ‘NSW Public Health (COVID-19 Restrictions on Gathering and Movement) Order’, and would expose us to the risk of hefty fines.

The meeting’s primary purpose was to vote on the membership eligibility of Vismay Delekat. The board will now look at other ways to help this process continue to proceed. May’s essential Goolawah business will continue through online Directors’ Meetings.

We do apologise for the inconvenience especially to those members who requested online voting outside of Goolawah. This was a wonderful opportunity enabling those members who could not normally attend to participate but it is not possible at this time.

Any member who wishes to discuss the matter please contact any of the directors.

Regards,

Goolawah Cooperative Board”

General Meeting 09 May 2020

As advised by email, the May General Meeting will be held this coming Saturday via zoom teleconferencing.

In order to assist with a smooth on-line GM, directors have added relevant notes for each agenda item. At the end of each item the chairperson will ask for any comments or questions. You can participate via ‘’chat’’ or by unmuting your microphone.

  1.  Please email apologies and General Business items to the secretary no later than 4pm Friday 8 May.
  2. If you’re unable to attend the meeting but would like to vote online on the membership eligibility proposal, email the Secretary prior to 11.30am Saturday 9 May, as Adoodle voting does not allow names to be added after voting opens at midday.
  3. For members who do not have online access, a polling station will be at Camp Kitchen 12-1pm for paper voting.

  4. Have a copy of the agenda to follow during the meeting.
  5. On 9 May at 8.30am check your email for the Zoom link. Click on the link no later than 8.50am, mute your microphone and turn off your video.

Disabled Toilet – Camp Kitchen

As promised, Wayne Skinner has finalised budget estimates for construction of the Camp Kitchen Disabled Toilet, either as a new structure or re-using the existing one.

Option 1:  Reuse the existing chamber $8,393,

Option 2:  Build a new Dual Chamber – $11,453

Note: contingency is included, but not labour costs.

Wayne says that design finalisation can occur later. Any additions such as sinks, showers, storerooms will need to be considered during the upcoming community discussion. However, costs will increase accordingly as will council inspections, grey water requirements etc.
